Christmas Portrait Shoot

I’m excited to share my work today! I recently was invited to join a photographer’s group in the Salt Lake area. We meet up occasionally and have access to some amazing studios and locations with all types of lighting and equipment available. I was thrilled to go for my first time! This shoot was meant for purely Christmas themed shots, however, I have been trying to sharpen my skills on shooting portraits because it is something I’m very interested in. Long story short, these images were some I’m most proud of in my photography journey so far and they were taken at this past Christmas shoot. It was such a thrilling experience for me to just have all control and let my creativity run the camera. Of course I must also give credit to the models, it truly makes for some great photographs!

Side note: One of the models came in Gatsby attire so I just went with it!

Something a great photographer once told me: “You can buy all the most expensive equipment out there and take just okay shots, or you can learn everything there is to know about the science of photography and how to work what you already have and still take some incredible photographs.”

Candace and Adam

We had a fun Thanksgiving weekend and got to have our friends stay with us for a few days! Naturally, I wanted to take some photos of them and they were nice enough to let me. 🙂 They are newlyweds still so that’s reason enough! Hope you like!
